Drawings from 2009

Maybe we can only hurt each other unless we become full moons

I thought if I couldn't see myself, others couldn't see me either
I thought I was doing well
Fool

Comedic Tragedy
Brilliant Downfall
Boring Heaven in an Amusing Hell
Painful Happiness

Flesh-burning Oasis
Sweet Self-harm

Loving you is something like that

Floating Thoughts

The dryness is burning my insides

Dal-Tokki piggybacking "the girl"

The encounter of "the jellyfish" and "the girl"

I'm not lonely. Yes, I said I'm not lonely. I'm not lonely.. I'm not lonely but..

그리다
"gu-ree-da" is a homonym in Korean for "drawing" and "missing someone"

Free space in my mind..?

"General rabbit Woo-too-ri,
fly, fly, let's fly"

Is winter a season you can't avoid getting hurt

Which is the top
Which is the bottom
What is right
What is wrong

It's getting torn apart

Something's wrong

Want to scream

Want to cry

2014 Cosmos Project. Part 2. The exhibition.

part 2. the exhibition

Cosmos Project

8 visual artists and 8 composers came together to create artworks
We were paired up into 8 groups and we were each assigned a planet from the Solar system

I was paired up with Oliver Cameron and we had Earth as our subject.

exhibition. Gallery 2010.

Earth

Oli (composer) and I chose 8 small objects - 4 natural & 4 man-made - that we thought would symbolically represent Earth. They were paired up into odd yet meaningful couples. The egg and bullet symbolise birth/life and death. The coin and pearl symbolise prosperity and value. The leaf/flower petal and matchstick symbolise construction and destruction. Finally the screw and snowflake symbolise structure. Putting all of these huge meanings into pocket-size items was our idea, connecting also to how small Earth actually is compared to the entire universe.

As I was to create the visual side of the collaborative work, I focused on depicting the items as iconic and recognisable as possible. I also intended to make them look like scientific illustrations of specimens of Earth, as if I were an extraterrestrial visitor.
